Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Around fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Officers then located multiple other smeared cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say preliminary tests show the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; officials are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for tips.

An important representative commented the vandalism left him stunned and had to be addressed promptly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
